You stand there telling my manager that I have an attitude problem and need to be re-trained, and then you go complaining to the goddamn company. Which you followed with really uncomfortable staring as your eyes conveyed that I was a goddamn disgrace of a cashier, and that I was some maniac lying to you for whatever odd reason. Especially when after the transaction, when you brought the points card up, I said sorry because that had to be done during the transaction and I had forgotten. This is why when you come to me asking for my manager, so that you can complain about me, as I stand there cashing other customers out, about how I forgot to ask whether or not you have a certain points card, I am going to be visibly frustrated, as you so eloquently put in your email. Then on top of that I have to pick up a million dumbass phone calls as I cash people out while also having to do my goddamn cashier spiels. I am not only working as a solo cashier but also as a footwear associate, a softgoods associate, a hardgoods associate. Therefore, I end up having lines of people wanting me to do the floor associates’ goddamn job as well as mine. Also, my bad that I’m upset that I have to do goddamn everything in the store, because none of the sales associates ever seem to be where they need to be. So I’m sorry that I’m a solo cashier that has to work through lines of people, and am so mentally and physically exhausted that I may sometimes forget a few things, or make mistakes here and there, I am a goddamn human being just like you. (We are also a fairly decent sized store, large enough that we warrant our own washrooms, because it’s illegal for a store of our size to not have a working washroom). Overworked due to the fact that the company won’t provide enough goddamn money to provide enough hours, so that we can schedule more than one goddamn person for cash, especially on weekends, IN A FUCKING MALL. This job is just a means to an end, not my life’s calling so it doesn’t bother me when someone complains about me, but it annoys me that people seriously think they need to go out of their way to not only complain in store, but then also send the company an email re-iterating their complaints about tiny mistakes from overworked workers. I honestly doubt they care in the end, and ultimately I don’t care either. I am just one of many cashiers that works for a 10 billion dollar company, with multiple locations and thousands of part timers let alone, their full time office workers, etc. Today I was notified by my manager that someone emailed a complaint about me to the company.
